About the Chiropody Clinic
We provide services ranging from preventative education as well as management and treatment of the high-risk foot conditions for persons afflicted with diabetes and/or lower limb vascular problems.

In this role you will:
  • Provide a full range of chiropody treatments to the inpatients
  • Provide general management of the Chiropody Services provided by the Hospital
  • Assess and treat a wide range of foot and lower limb conditions, including skin and nail disorders, structural problems, and injuries
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including the use of orthotics, medications, and minor surgical procedures, to address patient need
  • Provide preventative care and education to patients, focusing on maintaining foot health and preventing further complications, particularly in patients with chronic conditions such as diabetes.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with the latest advancements in podiatric care and integrate new knowledge into practice
  • Conduct routine foot examinations for patients at risk of foot complications, such as those with diabetes, arthritis, or vascular disease
  • Engage in patient education and outreach programs to raise awareness about foot health and the importance of early intervention
  • Work with an interdisciplinary team to provide holistic patient care
  • Perform other duties consistent with the job classification, as required

Job Requirements:

Mandatory
  • Registered with license to practice (in good standing) with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario
  • Successful completion of a chiropody program approved by the Council of the College of Chiropodists of Ontario
Preferred
  • Experience working with diabetic foot conditions

Skills and Knowledge
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications
  • Good working knowledge of central sterilization processes
  • Demonstrated satisfactory job performance and attendance history required
