At Sinai Health, we care, create possibilities and offer hope. We are looking for a AAC Technologist to support our AAC Clinic department.

Job Outline:
This position is responsible for interacting with interdisciplinary team members of the ACC to develop appropriate Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) systems for individuals with severe speech and or physical impairments. Responsibilities include; servicing all assistive devices prescribed or leased through ADP; the set-up, installment and testing of ACC equipment and to provide education to ACC staff and clients concerning assistive devices including new technology. 

Education & Qualifications:
  • Graduate of a Community College, majoring in information systems, computer sciences or engineering technology.
  • Experience in computer hardware and software installation; adaptation/modification of communication systems, troubleshooting and problem solving experience.
  • Experience with technology related to the augmentative and alternate communication systems an asset.
  • Able to cope with physical demands of the job.
  • Eligible for certification with The Professional Engineers of Ontario, and/or The Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT).
