About this team:
We are a 32-bed unit where patients are admitted for specialized complex supportive care or medical/neurological/orthopedic reconditioning. Our Neurological & Medical Complex Care Program provides specialized complex care for patients who have moderate to severe impairment in their mobility, cognitive function and/or communication due to brain injuries or neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, or cerebral palsy. We aim to help patients adapt to new changes as a result of illness/diagnosis, focus on quality of life and help transition to the most appropriate clinical setting.
In this role you will:
- Provide comprehensive, patient-centered care in collaboration with the patient, significant others and interprofessional team
- Establish patient care plans based on bio-psychosocial and spiritual needs assessment and integrating other health professionals’ recommendations
- Enhance comprehensive health and physical assessment skills for patients with multiple complex co-morbidities and neurological conditions
- Observe and interpret non-verbal patient communication
- Assist with activities of daily living and mobility
- Assess and manage care of patients with evolving acuity
- Utilize your full scope of practice
- Utilize specialize skills and knowledge including tracheostomy, enteral feeding tube, ostomies, nephrostomy tubes, pain management and complex wound care.

Job Requirements:
Mandatory
- Current certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
Preferred
- A baccalaureate degree from a CNO-approved nursing program
- Recent completion of a physical assessment course

Salary: Minimum - $37.93/hour; Maximum - $54.37/hour
